1. Acceptance of the Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Patter (“App” or “Service”), you (“User”, “you”, “your”) agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not accept all provisions herein, do not use the App.

2. Definitions

• Developer / We / Us / Our: Barış Aslankan, an independent developer based in Türkiye.
• Service: All functionality, content, and data provided through the Patter mobile application.
• Content: Text, graphics, audio, video, data, and any other material supplied by either the User or the Developer within the App.
• Subscription: A paid, automatically-renewing right to use premium features of the Service (PatterPro), as described in Section 7.

3. License and Permitted Use

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, limited license to install and use the App for non-commercial purposes strictly in accordance with these Terms. Any other use—such as resale, reverse engineering, or distribution of the App or its content—is prohibited.

4. Account Registration and Security

The App uses sign-in with Google or Apple via Firebase Authentication. You must:

• Provide accurate account information (the e-mail address associated with your Google or Apple account).
• Maintain the confidentiality of your credentials.
• Accept responsibility for activities that occur under your account.

5. User Obligations

• Enter accurate and up-to-date pet information; outcomes depend on the data you supply.
• Refrain from uploading illegal, abusive, or infringing content.
• Use the Service in compliance with applicable laws and veterinary regulations.

6. AI & Veterinary Disclaimer (Critical)

Patter employs artificial-intelligence models for informational and educational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a licensed veterinarian before making medical, nutritional, or behavioural decisions for your pet. In emergencies, contact a veterinarian or emergency animal clinic immediately. You rely on information generated by the App at your own risk.

7. Subscription and Billing Terms

Subscriptions are purchased through the app store you downloaded Patter from, such as Google Play. In this section, “store account” means the account you used for that purchase. Our separate Subscription Terms page sets out how PatterPro subscriptions are billed, renewed, cancelled and refunded.

7.1 Introductory Offers

• A subscription may include an introductory offer. The price, duration, eligibility and what happens after the offer are shown by the app store before you confirm the purchase. Introductory offers may not be available to every user.

7.2 Automatic Billing

• Subscription charges are processed by the app store through your store account. The price and billing period shown when you confirm the purchase apply to that transaction.
• Unless canceled, an auto-renewable subscription continues according to the renewal terms shown by the store.

7.3 Renewal and Cancellation

• Manage or cancel your subscription in your store account’s subscription settings.
• To prevent a future renewal or charge, follow the cancellation deadline and instructions shown by the store for your subscription. Cancellation rules can vary by store, offer, subscription type and region.

7.4 Charges and Fees

• Fees correspond to the plan you select at purchase.
• All charges occur via your store account.

7.5 Subscription Management

• You are responsible for ensuring that your store account settings permit auto-renewal if continued access is desired.

7.6 Cancellation Policy

• You may cancel through your store account.
• The store determines when cancellation takes effect and when subscription access ends. For many standard subscriptions, access continues through the current paid period, but store rules and applicable law may provide otherwise.
• Deleting your Patter account does not cancel your subscription. Cancel or manage the subscription separately through your store account.

7.7 Refunds

• Refund eligibility and processing are governed by the store through which the subscription was purchased (for example, Google Play).
• Contact that store’s support for refund requests.

8. Intellectual Property

All trademarks, code, graphics, and other content in the App are owned by Barış Aslankan or licensed to him. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks or other intellectual property except as explicitly permitted.

9. Third-Party Services

The App integrates Firebase, the Facebook SDK (in the Android app), and other third-party services. Your use of those services is subject to their respective terms and policies, which may change independently. Our Privacy Policy describes the services that process your data.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access without notice if you breach these Terms or applicable laws. You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time via in-app settings.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including—but not limited to—fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or availability. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Barış Aslankan shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including veterinary expenses, loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of—or inability to use—the Service. Our total liability for any claim in any twelve-month period will not exceed the amount you paid to us during that period.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Barış Aslankan from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service or breach of these Terms.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute shall be submitted to the competent courts of Istanbul (Çağlayan) unless applicable law requires another jurisdiction.

15. Modifications to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When required by applicable law, we will provide notice of material changes. The current version and its “Last updated” date will be available on this page. Continued use of the App after revised Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
