Patter for dogs
Dogs are one of the two species Patter supports. From a puppy’s vaccination record to an adult dog’s weight history, the guidance follows your own dog’s breed, age and history.
Does Patter work for dogs?
Yes. Patter supports cats and dogs. For a dog, that means nutrition analysis, weight interpretation, mood, guided daily checks, vaccination records, context-aware reminders, tailored training plans and an AI assistant — all working from your dog’s own profile rather than from generic advice.
How does Patter learn about my dog?
Setup starts from a photo. Patter uses photo analysis to determine your dog’s species and breed, and — when you do not know them — to estimate age, weight and gender. You then add what shapes the rest: their food, any known conditions or diseases, and any allergies.
Breed, age and size are not just labels on a profile in Patter. They are inputs to how nutrition is analysed, how weight history is read, and how a training plan is generated. How Patter works explains the mechanism.
What does Patter cover for a dog?
The same six areas as for any pet in Patter, all reading from your dog’s own profile.
- Nutrition. Calories, macronutrients and micronutrients, and food-safety assessment against your dog’s own allergies and conditions. See nutrition in Patter.

- Mood. A daily score and short questionnaire that builds into a pattern and feeds your dog’s wider health picture.

Can Patter help with dog training?
Yes. You tell Patter what you want to work on, and it generates a training plan built from your dog’s own information and context — their age, breed and history — rather than handing you a generic programme.
Because the plan is generated from the profile Patter already holds, the same goal produces different plans for different dogs. A recall plan for an adolescent working breed is not the plan an older dog with a known condition should be following.
Can I keep more than one dog in Patter?
Yes. Each pet has their own profile and history, and the AI assistant can understand relevant context about your other animals rather than only the one you are viewing. Adding more than one pet requires PatterPro, Patter’s paid tier.
Patter and your dog’s veterinarian
Patter keeps your dog’s history organised, surfaces what deserves attention, and recommends veterinary follow-up when that is warranted. It does not predict which conditions a breed will develop, and it does not diagnose.
