You can also upload a photo with your own chat question when it helps you show what you mean. A photo adds information to discuss; it does not establish a medical diagnosis.
Ask with your pet’s relevant care history
The assistant can use relevant information available in Patter, including:
- Profile details such as species, breed, age, food, known conditions and allergies.
- Recorded meals, weight and water intake.
- Mood records and their evaluation.
- Health observations, vaccination history and veterinary visit information.
That context comes from the information you supply. Keep it current and tell the assistant what has changed or is missing. Relevant saved information can inform a response; the assistant does not observe your pet on its own.
AI requests use external processing. Our Privacy Policy explains how information relevant to a request is sent and processed.
Talk through everyday care questions
Ask about a feeding routine, ideas for play or how a training goal fits your pet’s day. These are examples of questions to explore, rather than fixed answers for every animal.
For a food question, recorded meals and weight can provide context. Nutrition in Patter covers the meal plans, calorie and nutrient analysis, water records and weight interpretation behind that ongoing care information.
A question about a change in behaviour can be discussed alongside relevant mood and health history. Health in Patter explains guided Daily Visual Checks and contextual health notifications. Training plans are generated from a goal you set, using your pet’s information.

Keep each pet’s information in context
With multiple pets, the assistant can also use relevant context about your other animals. Each pet has their own profile and care history. Adding more than one pet requires PatterPro.
Know when the next step is your veterinarian
Patter’s assistant is not a veterinarian and is not a “virtual vet”. It can discuss what you have noticed, suggest possible relationships with the available history and recommend veterinary care when appropriate. It does not diagnose or replace a veterinary examination, and AI responses can be mistaken or incomplete.
